Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela

Christian Louboutin's seductive silhouettes are reinterpreted through Maison Margiela's subversive lens, using the techniques of “bianchetto”, achieved through a white overpaint, and “décortiqué”, which consists of reducing the shoe to its core structure. The Bilougiela 25, an ankle-strap sandal set on a 100 mm heel, reveals its layers under the partly peeled black patent leather. The Martinloula, a pointed pump with the “faux-cul” heel cap imagined by Christian Louboutin for the Maison Margiela 2024 Artisanal collection, features leather deconstructed and draped into layered panels that wrap the form. The Xrismarteen, a boot whose leather collapses into draped strips along its shaft, hints Maison Margiela's notion of “hacking”, which simulates the tear of paper. Finally, the Martoubi 25 is a white pump whose heel is daubed in a spontaneous red brushstroke: homage to the Maison's “bianchetto” and the famous red sole.
