Film Noir Stars and Modern Art Heroes: Christian Louboutin at PFW AW 16

For Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016, Christian Louboutin collaborated once more with the ever flirtatious Olympia Le-Tan and tongue-in-cheek accessories designer Yazbukey.

An ode to master artists, Olympia Le-Tan’s show recalled major artworks of the last century, including Ingres and Murakami, Hirst, Hockney and Picasso on jumpers, coats and dresses fully embroidered with sequins. Colorful prints were sublimated into multiple frames, turning each piece into a living art gallery. For the collaboration, two Christian Louboutin Autumn/ Winter 2016 styles were customized in the collection's signature palette. The Lord Cubano in black and brown calf gave a masculine edge to Le Tan's more girly silhouettes, while Hotero 100 was adorned with pink flannel or tweed. Some of the shoes were artfully splashed with multicolored, expressionist paint splatters à la Jackson Pollock. Christian Louboutin nail colours perfected Le-Tan's art school looks, adding pop colour manicures to the mix. A mustard yellow Mula Lisa was painted on the right hand, while a turquoise blue Batignolles was painted on the left.

A few days later, Christian Louboutin shoes accompanied Yazbukey's theatrical collection presentation. Taking inspiration from the darkest of film noirs, Yazbukey's heroines became black widows, balancing seduction with peril for men crossing their paths. Whether languid on a sofa at home, at the office, in an elevator, on a dinner date or at the dance club, Yazbukey's women were unapologetically seductive in two Christian Louboutin styles. Round toe Fififa 100 in red or black patent leather, as well as a customized red suede with ankle strap balanced vampy styles, while satin Pampas mules with a fur pompom gave an overtly feminine twist to an elegant, high-waisted black tuxedo and other looks. The finishing touch were Yazbukey's signature plexiglass accessories, including this season red-lacquered mouths, blue-lined eyes and mouthshaped handcuffs.
